Scam Detective

For publishers — free to embed, no key, no account

Put the free scam check on your own site

Your readers arrive holding a link and a bad feeling. This widget answers them where they already are — on your page, in your article, without a redirect. They paste an address, our server reads it live, and the score, the verdict and the two most serious findings appear in place. It costs you nothing, needs no key and no account, and we never ask their email for the free result.

A 0–100 scam risk score, a plain-English verdict, from “no red flags found” to “high risk”, and the two most serious red flags — each naming what we read and the day we read it.

What your reader gets

Install it

  1. 1Pick a publisher tagLower-case letters, numbers, dots, dashes — usually your site's name. It rides on the widget and on any reader who upgrades, so your readers are separable from every other publisher's in our own funnel. If you arrived here from a link we sent you, it is already filled in and the snippet below is ready to copy as it stands.
  2. 2Paste the snippet where you want the boxOne script tag, no container element, no dependency. It inserts the widget exactly where the tag sits and resizes itself as the result appears.
  3. 3Nothing elseNo key, no account, no allow-list, no call-back. If your CMS strips scripts, use the plain iframe below instead — same widget, same tag.

The snippet

Paste this where you want the check box to appear.

<script async src="https://scam-detective8.acoco.ai/embed.js"
        data-sd-ref="your-site"
        data-sd-theme="light"></script>

No-JavaScript fallback

Same widget, for a CMS that strips script tags.

<iframe src="https://scam-detective8.acoco.ai/embed/widget"
title="Free scam risk check by Scam Detective"
        width="100%" height="560" loading="lazy"
        style="border:0;max-width:680px;width:100%"></iframe>

This is the real widget, running against our live check — not a picture of one. Paste a link into it and you will get the same result your readers get.

Usage rules — what you may and may not write around it

These are the same claim boundaries our own pages are written inside, scoped to what this widget returns. They exist because the sentence a reader acts on is usually the one in your headline, not the one in our result — and because a check is a reading with a date on it, never a verdict on a business.

You may say

“Free scam risk check”, “check a link before you buy”, “paste a URL and see what it is serving” — the widget does exactly this and asks for nothing.
“A 0–100 risk score and a plain-English verdict, from “no red flags found” to “high risk”” — the approved way to describe the output in the abstract.
Any of the four verdict lines quoted exactly: “No red flags found in this check”, “A few risk signals — worth a closer look”, “Suspicious — multiple risk signals” or “High risk — matches the pattern we see on scam storefronts”.
“It reads the address live — DNS, the certificate on the connection, the public registration record and the page as served — and shows the date of each reading.”
“The free result shows the two worst findings; the full report costs $2 and adds all five with the evidence behind each, a 3-step ‘what to do now’ list and a PDF.” One payment, no subscription.
“Powered by Scam Detective”, “checks by Scam Detective” — and please keep the link; it is how we can afford to give the check away.

You must not say

Never call a result “safe”, “verified”, “legit”, “trusted”, “cleared” or “approved” — and never write the old shorthand “safe / suspicious / likely scam”.A check that found nothing has found nothing. It has not certified an address, and a reader who loses money to a site your page called “safe” was told that by you, not by the reading. This is why the four verdict lines are worded the way they are.
Never present the widget as a trust badge, a seal, a rating, a directory listing or a score you display beside a merchant. It answers one reader's question about one address at one moment. Pinned next to a shop as a standing mark, the same sentence becomes a claim about the future, which no point-in-time reading can support.
Never say it monitors, watches, tracks or alerts — and never that a site “is being monitored” because it was checked. There is nothing behind this widget that runs again. Every result is point-in-time, and the one recurring product we sell is a different thing sold separately.
Never say a check gets a site taken down, removed, suspended, blocked or your money back.We do not file anything on this product, we make no outcome or timing promise, and we do not recover funds. A reader who buys the report expecting a removal has been sold something that does not exist.
Never attach a registrar, hosting provider, network, name server or IP owner to a result, and never describe an address as part of a network, cluster or bulk registration. We withhold that attribution on this product on purpose, because we cannot substantiate it from the readings this check takes. A sentence that adds it is a claim neither of us can stand behind.
Never say anything about who is behind an address, what they intended, or whether it is criminal or counterfeit. We describe what an address served. Everything past that is an allegation about a person, and it is not ours — or yours — to make from a DNS answer and a page fetch.
Never say that a link is fine because it is not in our published index. Our index is a record of what we have checked. Unchecked is not clean, and treating it as clean is the exact inversion this widget exists to prevent.
Never re-word, re-score, summarise or cache a result and publish it as ours.Findings carry the date they were read for a reason — an address that went quiet can serve the same build again weeks later. A screenshot from last month is a record of last month, and a re-worded finding is no longer a quotation.

The standing scope limits

These do not change with the placement, the publisher or the price. They are the same limits printed on every report we sell.

What we ask in return

Publisher questions

What does it cost me?

Nothing. There is no key, no account and no charge to embed it or to run checks through it. We pay for the reads because a reader who upgrades to the full report does it on our site, and your tag is on that visit.

What does my reader actually get for free?

A 0–100 scam risk score, a plain-English verdict, from “no red flags found” to “high risk”, and the two most serious red flags — each naming what we read and the day we read it. No email address, no card and no account is asked for at any point before the result.

Does the widget track my readers?

It records that a widget loaded, that a link was checked, and whether the paid upgrade was clicked — with your publisher tag and the host page's domain attached. The loader also reports once, when it runs, that your page carries the snippet: your tag, your hostname and the path. No cookie is set or read on your site, no identifier is generated, no email address, no name, no cross-site profile — we never ask your reader who they are.

What happens when a reader wants the full $2 report?

The button opens Scam Detective in a new tab — your page stays where it is — with the address they checked already filled in and your tag attached. It is a single $2 payment, no subscription and no account.

Can I show the result as a badge or a rating next to a shop?

No. Every result is a reading of one address at one moment, and a badge turns it into a standing claim about the future that the reading cannot support. The usage rules above cover this and the reasoning behind it.

Can I cache or republish the findings?

Not as ours. Findings carry the date they were read, and state changes in both directions — addresses in our own published record have gone quiet and come back serving the same build weeks later. Link to a live check instead of freezing one.

Does a result mean the site is fine if nothing is found?

No, and please do not write it that way. A check that found nothing has found nothing — it has not certified anything. That is why the lowest verdict line reads “No red flags found in this check” and not something stronger.

Will it slow my page down?

The script is small, loads asynchronously and renders the widget in an isolated frame, so nothing it does can block or restyle your page. The live reads only happen after your reader presses the button.
